At the 16th Man University-Enterprise organized by the ECSC Bordeaux and with the subject "What values transmitted?", Interest has been focused on the speech of young students on this issue.
Indeed, a study conducted by Marie Hommeau with students large schools Bordeaux interrogates them about their vision of values in society and in the company.
These are the values of respect, work, sharing and ethics that are most often discussed by those interviewed.
It was established that the criteria values correspond to the individual's personality and his culture. The definition they have chosen is: "a value corresponds to a standard of conduct personal or social within a culture, spirituality or a particular ethic.
Students attach great importance to the principle of values in society, they see the benchmarks and ideals not to lose the harmony of the latter.
"Life in society leads inevitably to have values. On the one hand to make community life possible, secondly to affirm and cultivate his personality. They are also part of the identity of groups to which we belong. "
Young, however, see the values conveyed by the company as paradoxical. An overwhelming majority has questions: changes in meaning over time, a crisis of meaning, the rise of individualism ... The company "capitalist" is often blamed.
In the enterprise and work, future leaders are the values that are important when choosing a job (even if in the current context they are not determinative).
"I need to be proud of the company I work for, and even if I am not "useful" to society or the environment, I will at least not be harmful. Actions promoted by a company, but especially their applications are important to me, even my first job "
They are aware that finding a company that matches their personal values is an opportunity. The first objective is to find stable employment.
